Michael Turner
I just found out that Michael Turner has passed away. This is a very sad day for me. If it wasn't for him drawing Witchblade issue 8...I wouldn't be here doing my art today. He will be missed.

Chitterings
Okay, the Allison part of the site is going to have to wait until July...I'm working day and night to finish up Allison issue 1 to be released at the end of July...and it's a lot more important to get that done right now. There just isn't enough time in the day...!
For those of you who bought the Preview edition. It will not have the same story/art in it that issue 1 does. Issue 1 will feature a different coloring scheme as well as a different storyline for the pages.
Snippets Volume 1 is also well underway. It is being produced with fellow artist Jon Self. It will be a flipbook where he is doing half of the art chores for his side and I'll be doing the other half. 48 pages total...coming out right after Allison issue 1 hits.
I'd also like to take a moment to thank everyone who has already purchased either a copy of the Allison Preview or the Insomniac 2...all the money from them goes forward to produce Allison issue 1...so every sale is greatly appreciated.
For those who may be wondering...original art pages and paintings from the Insomniac 2 will be up for sale soon via my website. I got too much of this crap lying around here and it really needs to go...so I'll get that stuff put on there as soon as I have a moment to breathe.
That's it for now. I'll get some new art posted up later tonight.

Sniper and Rook

F*ck...
Well, the books won't be here until sometime at the beginning of next week...unless UPS pulls a miracle and has them on my doorstep tomorrow...which I can't see happening. But rest assured, they are en route as you read this.
Considering they are coming from Florida and I'm Illinois, I don't have high hopes for an overnight delivery...but I guess that isn't such a bad thing, because now I have the weekend to do 4 paintings so I can finish the Allison part of the website. Way to make the best of a bad thing, Juan! w00t!

Chitter Chatter
When Allison issue one goes up for sale at the end of July, the first 20 copies sold of each cover will include exclusive limited edition book plates.
Book plate = a mini print that will be signed and numbered.
Version A of Allison issue 1 will feature one book plate and Version B will include the other version book plate. Just remember that you have to be one of the first 20 people to order a copy of the book(s) to be able to get one. Once they are sold out, they will be gone for good.
Both issues will also feature different covers as well as different interior artwork.

Styles

It always amazes me how fast an artist can change their style if they put a conscious effort into it and really focus on bringing in new ideas and influences. Just check out the two above pages...there is a lot of difference in them in just one year's time.
Has it been easy? Hell no! Has it been worth it? Hell yeah!
Also, the top one was digitally inked and the bottom one was inked by hand. I'm so glad I got over my fear of traditionally inking my artwork...my stuff has only grown stronger because of it. I encourage any artist out there to face their fears and conquer them...that is how you evolve and grow with your art. Try new things...think outside the box of what comics are traditionally made with...push yourself as far as you can go and keep moving forward.
